How to Play

1

Open the museum

The button above opens the Van Gogh Museum in a new tab, so this list stays where you can see it.

2

Pick a floor

Four floors are linked below. Drag to look around; click the arrows on the floor to walk through the galleries.

3

Start the clock

Give yourself fifteen minutes and tick items off the list as you spot them. Your ticks are saved in this browser.

4

Count them up

Fourteen to find. Nobody gets all fourteen on the first run, so compare scores and go again.

The hunt

Fourteen things to find, if you look closely.

Every one of these is somewhere in the museum’s four floors. Tick them off as you go — your progress is saved in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back.

Where to look

Four floors, all walkable in 360°.

Each floor opens in Google Arts & Culture in a new tab. Drag to look around, click along the floor to move.

Running It With a Group

Split everyone into teams of three to five and send each team to its own breakout room. Give them this page and fifteen minutes.

  • Each team picks a leader to keep time and keep score.
  • Teams divide the floors between them rather than all walking the same gallery.
  • Everyone comes back to the main room at fifteen minutes, whatever their score.
  • Compare counts, then ask the winning team where they found the crab.

Twenty to twenty-five minutes end to end: two minutes to explain it, fifteen to hunt, and five to compare scores and hear the arguments about whether a lamp counts as hanging.

It also works as a slow-burn activity left open across a whole day, with scores collected at the end.

No. The galleries are Google Arts & Culture Street View, which runs in any modern browser with no sign-in. There is nothing to install and nothing to buy.

Yes, though the galleries are much easier to search on a laptop. If your group is mixed, pair the phone users with someone sharing a screen.

Please do. Send your attendees this page, or read the list out and let them hunt. There is no signup, no gate and nothing to credit — we built it for our own clients’ events and left it up.

Yes — branded to your organization, built around your own venue, product line or collection, and run live by a producer alongside the rest of your programme. That is the day job.

We Make the Rest of Your Event This Easy.

A fifteen-minute game is the small end of what we do. The rest is running virtual and hybrid events for audiences of 50 to 5,000, with a producer in the room the whole time.

One conversation. Zero pressure. Walk away with clarity on what this could look like for your event, even if we’re not the right fit.
