Dealmakers Forums A Hybrid Forum Where Remote Panelists Sat at the Table

The Challenge
Dealmakers Forums had spent a decade building exclusive, in-person B2B forums for the IP and litigation finance worlds. The pressure was to open them up to remote attendees without diluting the room. A basic Zoom feed wouldn’t match the brand, and the internal team couldn’t carry the technical load on top of running the program.
Our Solution
We took technical direction for both 2022 flagships: LF Dealmakers and IP Dealmakers. Our lead TD called shots on-site, directing the venue’s AV team and integrating remote panelists into in-room panels through custom picture-in-picture layouts projected on IMAG. A mix-minus audio path killed the echo loop remote speakers usually hear, and a 5-phase pre-event process kept scheduling, assets, and QA on rails.
The Results
Remote panelists sat alongside in-room speakers on the IMAG screens, so the room read as one panel instead of two formats stitched together. The internal team stopped troubleshooting and ran their program. Edited replays (trimmed, scored, slide-synced) shipped within two business days of each session, so post-event momentum landed while the audience was still warm.
Featured Service
Picture-in-Picture IMAG Layouts
Remote speakers were keyed into branded picture-in-picture frames and projected onto the in-room IMAG screens next to the live panel. The audience saw one unified conversation, not a video call on a side monitor.
In Their Words
“Norm was fantastic. Apart from the skill and finesse you’ve accumulated over the years, it’s clear you work with our partners as true experts. It took a load off of the worry and concern from our end, allowing us to focus on what we needed to do for the event.”
