A Virtual Activists' Summit for NARAL Pro-Choice America
featuring Senators Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Jeff Merkley
* vs. their previous virtual events
NARAL Pro-Choice America, one of the nation’s largest nonprofits, asked us to help them host their first-ever activist summit and first ever virtual conference, featuring keynote speakers such as Senators Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Jeff Merkley, along with Ilyse Hogue, president of the organization, and numerous other impactful and inspiring speakers.
There were breakout sessions, networking in between talks, 1-on-1 chat & video calls, and Expo Booths that presented items for sale, a book launch, a podcast, and more. There were interactive components, such as organizing group phone banking during the event, polls, and educational workshops about how to effectively reach others through both mail and digital communication.
Leading up to this packed two-day online conference, We & Goliath offered strategy, registration, software, training, graphics & support. To thoroughly train their team for their first large virtual conference, we led multiple technical walkthroughs, speaker trainings, a dry run, and a full book launch “sneak-peak” event.
The Organization’s President and the Board of Directors were ecstatic about both the platform and the service We & Goliath provided. The event was a huge success, with greater attendance and engagement than expected. NARAL has asked us to continue assisting with their virtual events in the future.
There were over 1,568 registrations for this free Activists’ Summit.
We helped to navigate changes to the schedule and advised on how to best prepare the audience for navigating the software and setting up their technology right.
We coordinated multiple speakers in one feed to the stage to present a TV-style production that keeps it much more interesting than a typical “talking head” live feed. See examples below.
Multiple group and 1-on-1 trainings for audio/video optimization, interactivity coaching for the livestreams.
To introduce a new book that the President of the organization has written called, “The Lie That Binds”. The main event was focused on organizing activists and engaging their community on a deeper level.
We provided day-of-event support for attendees via live chat throughout the event, and 1-on-1 video/screenshare calls to support. We also set up a Help Desk Booth to answer tech questions and assist attendees.
We worked non-stop with the internal team on various Slack channels to ensure that the event ran like a well oiled machine. We also moderators and speakers with backstage prep to ensure they looked and sounded good before they went on camera.
Three senators spoke on stage (Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Jeff Merkley) along with Ilyse Hogue, NARAL President, and speakers from the Black Lives movement.
NARAL staff including four executives of the organization hosted trainings and discussion panels. To help them prepare, we coached speakers on their audio, video, lighting, internet and computer reliability, and online presentation tips including how to interact with the audience via chat and Q&A.
We created a custom knowledgebase, branded with their event, colors, and logo. This helped attendees, moderators, speakers, and vendors to navigate the platform and use its features to the fullest.
With just two days notice before the event NARAL asked us to design social sharing images for all their main stage sessions in two sizes.
